July 2009 A Note from Pastor Joyce Smothers: Dear Friends in Christ, Jonah is one of the shortest, and most exciting, books of the Bible. Join us for Bible Study during the middle week (July 13-17) of July. You’re welcome at any (or all) of our meetings. Jonah is a stubborn, reluctant missionary. When God gives him a job to do, he buys a one-way ticket for the other side of the world. Jonah is a narrow little man, but he becomes one of the most powerful and effective prophets of the Old Testament. All class meetings will be held in my air-conditioned office from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Free study booklets are now available; see me for a regular or large-print copy. Bible study will be held during Vacation Bible School classes. If you’d like to sign up your child for this year’s “Discovery Canyon” series that same week, you can pick up a registration form on Sunday morning or call Debbie Snyder at (610) 261-1584. Don’t forget you can speak with me in my office, or on the church office phone, (610) 264-9693, on Tuesdays through Fridays. I’ll be on vacation from August 7 through 17, but for the rest of the summer, I am available for meetings without an appointment. If you work locally during the day, I can arrange to meet you during your lunch or dinner hour, here or at your workplace. Have a wonderful summer! Peace, Pastor Joyce's June 2009 Sermons Presbyterian Women Washcloth Sale The Presbyterian Women will be selling washcloths during the month of July. The cost of the washcloths is $1.50 each and they come in blue, green, yellow, and red. Please see Lila Bowman she will have the washcloths in church on Sunday Mornings. Thank you.
