Dear members of the First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua,
I am writing to announce my plans to retire from ministry, effective September 30,
It has been a great blessing to serve as your pastor for seven and a half years. As
we have shared joys and sorrows, you have encouraged me to grow as a pastor and

together throughout the summer and early fall, and to say good-bye in a leisurely
and personal way.

faithfully into the future. We will soon have a beautiful, redecorated chapel. We
hope to start a shared youth group with the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua in
the fall. Lehigh Presbytery leaders have promised to help you find new pastoral
I ask you to remember the words of God’s spokesman, Jeremiah: “For I know the
plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You
will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-
God’s blessings to you all,
